Home Remedies - 30 Useful Tips

by baLooT on May 4, 2008

Home Remedies - 30 Useful TipsI’m not someone that likes taking medicines for all kinds of different things. I don’t like using all kinds of harmful chemicals in my house, on my body, on my kids, on my dogs, or anywhere for that matter. I think the amount of waste and pollution in this country is something that we should all be ashamed of. It is also something that each of us can do something about.

Disposable products, single serving products, chemical sprays, fertilizers, weed killers, bug repellents, and so many more of today’s products are just so harmful. And they just keep coming out with more toxic products to spray everywhere and dump in our landfills. There are simpler and less toxic ways to most anything. So I have compiled a list of some things that can really help out around the house and yard.

Here are 30 useful remedies for everyday problems. Interesting tips on everything from bug killer to skin care- All using everyday products already in our homes, or easily available most anywhere. I’ve tried all of these tips, and they all passed the test. So I’m passing them along to you. Every mom should have a copy of this list. Every doctor should too.

Home Care in New Jersey - A Growing Trend for Families

by baLooT on April 23, 2008

As the baby boom generation (individuals born between 1946 and 1964) continues to age, they stand to dramatically change the population landscape throughout the United States. This trend can be seen clearly in my home state of New Jersey. Between 1990 and 2000 the population of individuals 60 and over grew by 3.5% to just under 1.5 million and by 2030 that number is expected to reach 2.5 million or roughly 25% of the state population. It is also important to note that, within this demographic, the largest area of growth occurred among individuals in the 80 and above age group.

Changes such as these bring about an almost unlimited number of questions and concerns but one can be commonly overlooked is the issue of personal care. The percentage of people between 60 and 80 that live alone is 15% for men and 31% for women. Surprisingly, the percentage of men and women 85 and older who live alone is higher at 27% and 41% respectively. The New Jersey Department of Health also reported that as age increased so did the frequency of some form of disability, physical or otherwise. While a little more than a quarter of men and women between 60 and 64 reported a disability, the percentage of individuals 85 and older who report a disability grows to 64% for women and 73% for men. The Pros And Cons Of A Folding Wheel Chair

by baLooT on April 20, 2008

Although a folding wheel chair has its own benefits in terms of travel, there are many disadvantages, too. Many disabled individuals find wheel chairs as their second home, if not part of their bodies. Comfort, durability, and performance are just few of the things that you need to consider in selecting the best type of chair, whether it is a folding unity or and an ordinary one.

You must take note that folding wheel chairs have many removable parts–wheels, casters, and many others–so there are many screws that may come loose over a long period of time. This poses a risk to the user as parts that move are strained and may lead to accidents. Also, casters on folding chairs are placed close to the foot rest. It was designed this way to allow the chair to fold. With this design though, the user has to strain to turn the chair around as opposed to an ordinary rigid or non-foldable wheel chair. Sinus Headache Symptoms, Knowing is the First Step to Prevention

by baLooT on April 12, 2008

Sinus Headache Symptoms, Knowing is the First Step to PreventionThe pain can be almost indescribable at times. Whenever a sinus headache appears, most people have nothing on their mind but making it go away. Sinus headaches can flare up for any number of reasons but once they appear they tend to stick around for awhile. If you suffer from sinus headaches than I’m sure that you can tell when one is about to appear, even well in advance. At times, however, it may be difficult to separate a sinus headache from a migraine headache without knowing the sinus headache symptoms. Here’s how you can tell the difference. The sinuses are amazing part of the human body. The cavities themselves actually are behind our cheeks and stretch way up into your forehead. They help to give our face its unique shape and protect our brain from blunt force trauma. All that is of little consolation, however, if you are suffering as a result of your sinuses. Nail Fungus - Symptoms and Treatments for Nail Fungal Infection

by baLooT on April 11, 2008

Nail Fungus - Symptoms and Treatments for Nail Fungal InfectionHaving a nail fungal infection is really annoying. Where did it come from? Well, you probably wear your shoes too much or you were walking barefoot in a public swimming pool or are being negligent in using communal comfort rooms. Maybe you haven’t heard of nail fungi and didn’t care until you found them occupying 10 per cent of your feet. It nailed it! Now read this for your awareness:

Nail fungi, onychomycosis (on-i-ko-mi-ko-sis) or tinea unguium in scientific terms, commonly infects the feet because these minuscule fiends love dark and humid spots of the human body. Since our feet spend most of their waking time enfolded in leathers or rubbers and inefficient socks, the fungi often breed in the toenails where there is enough warmth and moisture.
