Sweating is the body’s cooling system. Without it the blood in our circulation system would simply overheat. When we sweat the temperature of our skin reduces and this cools down the blood that is pumping around our body. The part of our skin that does this is our sweat glands. The operation of these glands is more efficient for some people than others. Sometimes this process is too efficient and this shows itself as excessive sweating.
Why this cooling system is important for the brain
As well as pumping around our whole body the blood circulates through the brain to keep it cooled. As a very sensitive part of the body it is crucial to keep our brains cooled. If there is a problem with the body not sweating enough then the cooling system cannot do its job and can even cause brain damage. So stopping sweating completely is not right for our bodies even though sometimes we wish we could stop sweating.
