This is the concluding segment of my two-part (Aloe Vera - Is It Just A Laxative?) article on the Aloe Vera plant which for many years was erroneously regarded as no more than a powerful laxative. Aloe Vera in actual fact is one of Nature’s most potent medicinal herbs. In tandem with it’s ability as an effective and natural weight loss agent, it is also a strong and healthy detoxifying agent.
Aloe Vera as a Detoxifying Agent:
Aloe Vera also has strong antibacterial and antifungal properties against a broad range of microbes. Carrisyn, an extract of Aloe Vera, has shown recent evidence of being able to inhibit a number of viruses ‘in-vitro’, including the strains responsible for herpes simples, measles, and HIV. Carrisyn appears to work by stimulating the immune system to trigger the production of blood cells that fight infection, thereby boosting the immune function.
Amino acids methionine, serine, threonine and molybdenum are useful. They detoxify heavy metals, help in proper metabolism of carbohydrates, fat and protein thus preventing buildup of fat in the liver and arteries.

Herbs have been used as medicines for thousands of years. Till recently people relied on traditional systems of medicine that were based on observational analysis, It is only now that scientific methods have evolved enough to allow experimental research. However, this does not denigrate the observations made over centuries. Plants used in folk medicine are still the main source of drug discovery and development. Modern medicine may have the tools but nature still has all the compounds.
One promising herb that is often unrecognized for all its medicinal properties is Aloe Vera. This herb seems to be the complete package for a good life. Its active ingredients can not only detoxify the body of harmful toxins but also rid the body of excess adipose tissue in a harmonious way. Aloe Vera is an excellent choice for a clean and healthy life. The herb also has appreciable beneficial effects that protect the skin from the elements.
Aloe Vera draws the heat out of burns, soothes and softens the skin just minutes after being applied. Sunburnt, dry or cracked skin and scrapes can all benefit from a slathering of Aloe Vera gel. It is said to maintain beauty, smoothen wrinkles, and brighten the face. Nature packs Aloe Vera in ready-to use leaves, (just break off a leaf and squeeze the gel onto a burn or bruise) but its effectiveness and quick action is greatly facilitated by processing its active principle.

Prostate cancer is the male equivalent of breast cancer, which plagues millions of women. Fortunately, a little precaution can reduce the dangers of prostate cancer, and might even help save your life. It is crucial for men to pay attention to their health, especially as they age. Prostate cancer is the third major cause of cancer-related deaths in men. Many men do not realize the severity of this hazardous disease and fail to receive regular prostate checkups.Prostate cancer starts with the growth of a malignant tumor inside the prostate gland and spreads by extending into the bladder, seminal vesicles, and peritoneal cavity. It eventually metastasizes to the bones, lymph nodes, lungs, liver, and kidneys. The cause of prostate cancer is unknown, although recent studies find a small relation between increased testosterone levels and high dietary fat intake. Prostate cancer is rarely occurs in men under 40 years of age. The highest level of occurrence is greatest in African-American men over 60 years old. Increased occurrence is also associated environmental exposure to cadmium, a metallic element. The lowest incidence of prostate cancer occurs in vegetarians.
The cancer is classified based on the tumor’s aggressiveness and the degree it affects surrounding tissue. Most prostate cancers are staged or characterized by utilizing the Whitmore-Jewett system (A B C D system). The system groups tumors using the following scale: A: Tumor that cannot be detected by touch but only through microscopic tissue sampling. B: Tumor that can be detected digital inspection and is still confined to the prostate. C: Spreading of the tumor beyond the prostate gland. D: The cancer has advanced to regional lymph nodes.

Testosterone Support Supplements (or Testosterone Aids) are meant to enhance your performance, increase muscle gains and make you bigger. Testosterone is the master male hormone. Testosterone supplementation can increase male sex drive, strengthen bones, muscles, decrease body fat, improve thinking ability, boost energy levels and guard against the onset of depression and heart disease.
Testosterone
Testosteroneis a powerful anabolic hormone that stimulates and controls the development of muscle, bone, skin, sex organs, and most other masculine, physical features. Recently, scientists have discovered that testosterone also aids mental function, enhancing both visual and perceptual skills. Male testosterone is produced in the testes by a group of cells known as the Leydig cells. These cells begin secreting high doses of testosterone during puberty to trigger increased lean muscle mass, sex organ development, bone formation and higher energy levels. Testosterone levels peak during a man’s early to mid twenties. [click to continue…]

There has been a great buzz over natural vitamin supplements lately. Some would wonder what exactly are the differences between natural and synthetic supplements and whether one is better than the other. To help you determine which kind to go for, let us examine some important facts.
Vitamins
There is absolutely no need to argue that our bodies need vitamins to stay healthy. We simply can not live without them. Some of these vitamins are generated by human bodies but others will have to be taken from sources outside of the body. The best sources of nutrients are always the natural foods that we eat. That is why both the doctors and the government keep recommending having a healthy diet and avoiding synthetic and processed foods. There are times when our diets just can not provide the exact amount of vitamins to cater to the needs of our bodies, and this is when supplements are needed. [click to continue…]
